"There is absolutely no substitute for the best. Good food or wine cannot be made of inferior ingredients masked with high flavor. It is true thrift to use the best ingredients available and to waste nothing." - James Beard

Born out of our love of fine wines and the outdoors, Walking Winos has become the premiere group for vineyard walking in the Temecula Valley. We are a very friendly bunch of hikers that love wine ... or is it winos that love to hike? Either way our common bond is wine and food appreciation. This takes us to some fun events and scenic spots around the world.

How it all began......
Lead hiker, Debbie Taylor, has been an avid bird watcher, plant lover, hiker, nature guide and world traveler for many years. As a volunteer docent at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve she guided group hikes for over 20 years. She joined a hiking "meetup" group in Temecula and led them on hikes at the Plateau followed by a tailgate picnic. Well the picnic became a regular thing. Then they went with a guide into the vinyards and wine tasting - this was a real hit. So Debbie started creating walks in the wine country. When someone called her a hiking wino it stuck. She changed the name to Walking Winos and now has over 300 members.

Come and taste the experience for yourself.
